Crops are being harvested, some are being planted, sunflowers will be flowering and grass is growing everywhere.
Beautiful rain in and around the Felton region has set the scene for another magnificent year at the Felton Food Festival, which will be held on Sunday 12th April 2015.
The festival site is being prepared to host more than 70 food and produce stalls from around the region and Queensland, and over 10,000 visitors. There will be loads of fresh local produce, garlic, eggs, chicken, quail meat, delicious pork and beef, Felton gourmet burgers, fresh sandwiches and salads, cakes, slices and the famously sought after Felton Food Festival preserves, pickles and jams.
A new addition to the program this year is the Anzac Biscuit competition. Entries are on the FFF website and will be judged by our special guests Alastair McLeod, Costa Georgiadis, Matt Golinski, Alison Alexander and Shirley Kronk during the festival. A children’s photographic competition is another new addition.
Once again, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. Children have a giant sandpit to play in. They can look under a microscope and discover the world of soil. They can plant seedlings in recycled bits and pieces and they can run through the crops of sorghum and sunflowers. Adults can taste food to their heart’s desire or listen in on the beer, coffee and olive oil appreciation classes. There will be heaps of products to buy and take home to create delicious 'local produce' meals. The Felton Produce Q&A tent will be hosting a Felton Reunion at lunchtime for all those people wanting to catch up with Felton connections.
And of course some of the highlights of the day will be watching and listening to Alastair McLeod, Costa Georgiadis, Matt Golinski, Alison Alexander and Jerry Coleby-Williams share their knowledge of food and gardening in their entertaining, funny and manic ways.
