Prof Lindsay Brown
Professor of Biomedical Sciences
University of Southern Queensland
Born in Toowoomba, grew up on a farm near Warwick, studied Pharmacy at The University of Queensland (UQ), PhD at the University of Sydney, post-doctoral experience in Munich, then teaching and research at The University of Queensland (UQ).
The research group of Professor Lindsay Brown at USQ looks at the effectiveness of foods to counter the changes in diet-induced obesity. In particular, we show that foods with anti-inflammatory effects reverse organ damage due to obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure. Most of these foods can be grown on the Darling Downs.
