The sun shone bright on Sunday for the 2017 Felton Food Festival as more than 6,000 locals and visitors ventured to the Bryces Road site to meet producers, farmers and more.
Highlights from this year’s festival included the Q&A tent with talks on Paddock to Plate trends, horticulture with local farmers and the science of beef and lamb; stallholders getting to talk direct to customers about their products and the Farm Fossick kids education booklet.
The Sausage King Outback Heat was also a success with many local butcher’s from Pittsworth, Oakey, Goondiwindi and Toowoomba taking out the Sausage King title in their class.
Visitors to the region got a glimpse of authentic country life in this one-day showcase of everything the Felton Valley is famous for.
2017 was extra special with the Festival joining forces with the World Science Festival Brisbane, hosting activities and stalls showing how science is changing agriculture to educate and celebrate the future of farming.
Special guests for 2017 included Costa Georgiadis, Alison Alexander, Alastair McLeod, Caroline Jones, George the Farmer, and country singer Brendon Walmsley.
