Historical Machines

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at any of Toowoomba’s beautiful cafe’s - we highly recommend The Firefly Cafe for delicious local produce. Open Saturday from 7am.

After breakfast take a stroll through Queens Park as you make your way to exploring the natural and cultural history of the Darling Downs. Cobb+Co Museum is part of the Queensland Museum and is home to the National Carriage Collection. As well as Cobb & Co coaches, the museum includes exhibits such as the Energy for Life Discovery Centre, Aboriginal artifacts, dinosaur exhibit as well as a cafe and play area for children. Opening Hours 10am - 4pm daily.

Wind down and enjoy a picnic lunch in the cool & relaxed surrounds of some of Toowoomba’s beautiful parks and gardens. There are excellent facilities for children to play and explore at a variety of parks. A fantastic spot to grab some picnic essentials is Wendlend Fine Foods, just a few blocks away from Cobb & Co.

After lunch head out to the Downs Steam Tourist Railway & Museum. Run and operated by a passionate and knowledgeable group of volunteers, this is a must do for those with a keen interest in historical machinery.  Opening Hours Saturday 9am - 3pm.

Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, there are so many to pick from, but if pizza is your thing why not try Artisan Pizza, housed in a beautiful historic building at 41a Russell Street Toowoomba. Bookings highly recommended. Opening Hours 5pm - 9.30pm
