This is one for the bigger kids for energy to burn!! Start the day with a hearty breakfast at any of Toowoomba and the Darling Down’s beautiful cafe’s - we highly recommend The Firefly Cafe for delicious local produce. Open Saturday from 7am.
After breakfast put your climbing shoes on and head to Table Top mountain. Getting to the top of the mountain is a combination of hiking, rock hopping, scrambling and climbing. It is tricky in sections, you do need to have a reasonable level of fitness. Going up and back the hike takes about two and half hours. From Toowoomba follow South St south until it becomes Tabletop dr. Continue to follow Tabletop dr until it turns into a dirt track. At the end of the dirt track is the entrance to the walk and areas to park.
There are other bushwalks available where you can get a good view of Tabletop - try the bushwalks around Picnic Point Park - just off Tourist Rd Toowoomba.
Wind down and enjoy a picnic lunch in the cool & relaxed surrounds of some of Toowoomba’s beautiful parks and gardens.
After lunch we not wander into town and have a look at how Toowoomba’s newest festival, The First Coat Festival has transformed our city. Grab a cupcake as you wander at Crave Cupcakes - yum! Here is a map for your guide to the best graffiti art around town.
Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, there are so many to pick from, but if Prime Cut steaks is what you crave - try The Spotted Cow located on the corner of Ruthven and Campbell Streets Toowoomba. Bookings highly recommended. Opening Hours 6pm - late
